From city of Baked Beans

Namastey mates. I am almost halfway through my hometown trip and only left with couple of weeks to enjoy home stay. Eating out almost daily, once in a day at least has messed up my stomach.! Enjoyed watching KANNADA movies and somehow I have been watching too many comedy plays at famous theater “RangaShankara” to add value for self-entertainment.! (no negatives). However, the hypnotic art of my presumption has made me to stay mute about local issues and am keeping myself busy in traveling to places and fun-tastic get-togethers. My nostalgic sense has made me to think about extending my stay but for now over n out…

No more xams!

exams over and it ended with a bang!! Yes, you read rite; Answering database administration was like a cakewalk in the park. Xams are finally over & finally defines once for all but wtf***! time has insanely slowed down.. 5 more days n I can say bye to Perth but then… I only managed to kill 3 minutes n 26 seconds scribbling this. The predicaments of a student is no more for me and on reminiscing, it was not that bad after all (later corrected to not bad at all.!) and as always I did leave some scope for improvement. Well that’s that.. wow..! too much sugar in my tea.! all rite.. am off to fix it now…

this is my song so far

I’m sitting here thinking about you
your thoughts create a flutter in my heart
thoughts about: I being song of your life;
thoughts about: I being breath of your hopes;
these thoughts will grow, fonder beautifully,
they have my mind as their home.

In the stream of my feelings will I ever find a river?
will my wishes ever find a boon?
no wonder my thoughts just run wild at times!
cause you are there and I'm here;
this is my song so far, regurgitating;
sitting here thinking about you.

Me moving on..

Sometimes in life I did decide to walk through distinct path, in my own way to achieve goals and while traveling along, I observed the funny nature of life which forced me to drift apart and take shortcuts. And all along the way I have met people who let me see a different perspective of life than my own preconceived notion only to realize that we don’t live in the world of reality but in the world of how we perceive reality.
When I try to reminisce about the left behinds, I feel happy for what ever that I am today. But, I am still learning how not to hide myself in my own sheltered little world and just imagining things to happen or wish for the life I want, instead, mold myself to hold the command on life ahead.
From my dairy of lessons learnt, I love to ink down a few lines and the very first one would be – don’t wait for people to be friendly, show them how; And like me, start believing in luck, for how else can we explain the success of those who win over us.

Ye dil maange more.!

was the feeling for entire trip & yes, my fingers are back on keyboard to narrate our recent excursion down south, which was Rock On without dramas. Extensive planning followed by shopping led our shoulders drooping but that didn’t stop the bills popping.! Yeah, such was the excitement, which kept us driving crazy throughout the trip.
At 4 am in the morning on the 26th of September, I checked my travel bag, International Driving Permit and wallet for the last time in my pockets, pulled over a nice & neat sweater, checked my pair of Nike for any bad whiff, locked the house and jumped into the front right seat of our magnificent MAGNA, & the journey begins…
You guys don’t have to wait for too long as our 1st break came after driving for 1.2kms to hook up with EXCEL team. It was from here our walkie-talkie came in handy and the next stop came after driving for 3 hours covering 270kms. Since we carried our own food for the entire trip, we just had to stop by a petro station and finished our breakfast. Charioteers, myself and ash knew the challenge ahead of us, driving remaining 500kms in the rain and make sure that we reach Quagi beach camping site (destiny day1) before sunset.! As usual, it was my fantastic driving skills that came in handy to reach our destiny but just little too late. Oops..! forgot to mention about “WAVE-ROCK”, the famous prethse prethse spot which we visited on the way. Then we had to setup 3 tents in dark & rainy conditions, which we did & heaps of eating followed guiding us to bed for day1.

This song by our cave man (tejasvi) woke us up in the morning; brand new day2 with sun shining bright made us forget wet & cold day1. Quagi beach visit was followed by quick morning routines. Disaster struck when my car got stuck in sand & I had to sacrifice the rear bumper to get away with it. Damn…! defamation of my driving skills straight away.! Well, I then whispered – I shall not be silenced and we moved on from there straight to Esperance. Dropped by the visitors info center, coming out from which we had our activities planned for that day. Drove to twilight beach, got on with snorkeling in the clear light blue insanely cold shallow water for a while. Out of water, into our cars, we were off to luck bay camping site (destiny day2). Tents were raised & we had unforgettable candle light dinner with kutti kangaroos hopping around. Couple from New Zealand joined us for long chat following which we jumped into our beds for day2.

Day3 our ears booted the brainz after hearing this again. Morning routine was followed by visit to whitest Australian beach, Lucky beach. Wow..! what a place to be, I’ll just leave the rest for the pics to describe. Then we had to rush to Esperance to catch our cruise to WOODY island (destiny day3) at 9am. We were there an hour early which left us with ample time to sort out the luggage to be carried & safe parking of our cars. It was an awesome cruise lasted for about 2 hours only to leave our eyes wanting for more. Reaching the island we were guided to our camping sites and the tent setup subroutine was executed. Kayaking, bush-walking, fishing and finally, drinks session at the tip of the island in dark brought the exciting and amazing day to end.

Day4 U know what woke us up. Tent pack-up subroutine was executed and walk to ‘Twiggy’s landing’ view point followed it. Back from walk, we were left with lot of time to recall the moments, cakes & beverages were served following which we left the island to Esperance and from there to Perth with unavoidable breaks in between. Reaching home at half past 12 in the morning of 30th September, I turned the magna’s heart down only to realize that I had driven for yet another 2000Kms..! crazy me.

It needs no title

I know It’s been almost a month since something breathed on this blog. On realizing it was October.! I screeched in silence, when the hell did September end.!?! Anyways, a lot of water has flown under the bridge since I last wrote (I know, my usage of english idioms are exemplary).

I did so many activities last month and it was fun unlimited. To name a few are like scuba diving, structured planning for an exciting trip down south, lots of shopping, got our magna ready to loaf and learned setting up tents for camping in record time and finally once in lifetime kinda trip (will write about it shortly).

Step in October, project phobia has occupied my mind and on personal front, I guess things are never supposed to be smooth for a guy who is about to turn 25. Me staring at my future which is still as clear as the climax of an art movie (I don’t know about you, but I hardly understand ending of an art movie) leaves me paranoid.I know am being intricate, but I’ll stop here to enjoy the remaining Sunday.

Filmy friday

A long walk back to home from job, door opens and I step into multilingual house-full show. Yes, it was just another filmy friday night yesterday and each one busy watching movie on their lappi’s. I meant multilingual as to describe: One deeply involved in a English classic, second belted to seat watching Tamil action, third laughing his heart out at Telugu comedy, fourth in deep shock watching Hindi horror and fifth being me was busy thinking to justify the word multilingual. Wasting no time, filled my plate to brim and fired up a romantic Kannada. It was only after seeing “SHUBHAM” my senses came back only to know my plate was empty and badly required washing following which I jumped to bed whispering huff… friday night phull tight.

Agony left chasing dreams

Should I say hi, hello, how have you been? It’s been quite long and I miss your company? Or should I just ignore you the same way that you have been to me so far? How do I find the courage to go on & find a new horizon? How do I let go of a dear friend & companion in precious moments of my life? How do I move on when something wants to stay experienced in the past? Too many questions that you have left me to contemplate with. A day will come soon when my wait is over only to find you with some other.
I wish I am just dreaming, I wish you are not gone but when I open my eyes I know its real. Then I understand, to love is to risk not being loved in return. So I guess I will live my life again back to the time I haven’t met you. However, agony left chasing dreams.

Pride n Prejudice

What an event so far the Beijing’s Olympics has been to us the INDIANS. A long and impatient wait for 56 years now, to replace the Bronze with glittering Gold. It’s a shame to know our 1st independent gold medalist died fighting for his pension on the other hand thanks to 24/7 media which has made the new national heroes storm into crorepati list already.
If questioned how many medals India would win, my heart would answer 1 more than the hosts but my mind pointing to India’s great contribution for the Mathematics. However, the fact lying between and my sole satisfaction about the fact is that our eternal rivals, the Paki’s, have drawn a big blank. I’ve been contemplating most of the times & keep on wondering what is it with our athletes.!?! When Chinese can train a 6-year-old gymnasts to do 100 sit-ups, In India child rights activists would have filed a petition complaining of child abuse.
And yet, for the 1st time there is a genuine belief that India’s next Olympic gold wont take so long and undoubtedly there are many more Kumars and Sainas waiting to be discovered.

P.S: Why not Bollywood big shots do something about this? With context to IPL.

66th & Unnoticed.!

Its my friend’s birthday today the 9th August and we staying together here, on a foreign land, 6374.5kms away from home, has never made us forget to wish him as soon as the clock struck 12. Well, its not his 66th by the way.
If we can recall high school history then probably its not enough to get the idea what I am talking about. It was on this day 66 years ago people of India launched their final struggle for Independence. Mr. M.K Gandhi’s inspiring words spoken on this day kept up to its expectations which goes like this… “Here is a mantra I give you. You may imprint it on your hearts and let every breath of yours give expression to it. Do or Die. We shall either free India or die in the attempt; we shall not live to see the perpetuation of our slavery.”
Today, we are left with no more interest or patience to remember moments of national glory or sorrow. The mood is to get on with life, get ahead in the struggle for survival & success. The reason being today’s politics which is so vile & banal which has made it difficult for us to imagine that there was a time when our nation’s air was charged with commitment, heroism & sacrifice. Now, where is the pride of being an INDIAN…!?!

PS: Mera Bharath Mahaan, Bolo Bharath Mataa ki...jai.

Raghu Romeo

Its been totally a different day so far for me. Its raining and I just can’t keep my mind away a moment thinking about U n ME. If one loves a person isn’t it consistent? isn’t it grand with no longings, no hurt feeling but just pure bliss? The things she has made me feel is ambiguous. At times I feel like soaring and flying high but most of the time I feel like an angel with only one wing. Sometimes when I’m all alone I keep thinking of the time when we can be together again and make all our dreams a reality. But my greatest wish is that somehow the rain god would be kind and we can have all of it and the tune played in the background, U n ME, love in rain....

PS: Self inspired; rest left for creative imagination.

Mission Marriage

Since most of my classmates are geared up waiting in queue to tie the knot, I thought of penning down few words, which I observed during my recent conversation with them. I was amazed by the way, ‘girls to be aunties’ analyze the lifestyle of guys. Adding to the surprise is age that expire both for girls to be aunties and guys to be uncles desperately in search to tie the knot or get tied. Then what after expiry date? Its sort of taboo, at least among us Hindus, which is not amenable by me.
Top reasons for this jiffy nature that I came across were that, Females feel its safer to have pregnancy before they are 26 n also by 25 they start feeling older & are scared of loosing that girlish charm on their faces and most importantly worried about their figure n weight. Cheers! I never knew all these or at least I pretend so. Males specially software engineers, it seems they are scared of their average sperm count which happens to be slipping down like Dimple Kapadia’s clothes these days according my friend which he explains here. Well everyone has their point to prove but at this point of time I would say make love, not war & when you feel like experiencing both, only then get married.

living with reservations

Its always been an embarrassment to hear & answer this question. As for “who asked it?”, I suggest not to be concerned about as long as you believe you have answered. And weather its right or wrong? Is debatable.
“If you believe in a casteless society, every major step you take must be such that you move towards a casteless society. Unfortunately, the step we are taking today in accepting the mandal report, is a caste formula. While accepting this reality, we must dilute that formula and break it by ADDING SOMETHING to it. Even at this late hour, there is time to pull the country back from caste division”.. & continues. Any idea who told these words? Well its none other than our late PM Mr. Rajiv Gandhi.

After 60 years of so called “In-dependence”, our current political leaders graduated from ‘Gandhi School Of Politics: A politics of convenience, not always of conviction’ are still ADDING SOMETHING only to increase the reservation quota which is a shame. When having reservations for the past 60 years have not contributed to developing INDIA, then why still have it!?!

Howz going?

The most common phrase I get to answer repeatedly to different individuals following a warm hello. If that’s the aussie one, guess what, I have to answer the phrase Howz life? which is desi. Apparently I just end up replying “GOOD” hiding the reality which obviously interests none. After almost spending 18 months away from home I have come to a conclusion that life is not easy and it will never be, specially when you are repeatedly reminded of your age and things that should have been accomplished by that age..! Going gets only tougher and so do I to get going.

Theme MUMMY

This is composed keeping HINDOLA as the raaga base. Western style 2/4 is used with my own rhythm pattern & accompaniment. This is 2nd of the series. When my teacher heard the tune, he commented that the music made him visualize some Egyptian chick walking into the king's court..!! What an imagination!?! It was this comment that made me to name this composition as "MUMMY WALKING". Listen to it n...

can you visualize the same? I would also like to introduce you all very talented, young & handsome Sumanth, a close friend of mine, is amazingly creative in music unlike me. He is about to release his own music album "ARUNDHATHI", you can access the details here.

Perth Motor Show

It was my dream to try my hands on some of the most beautiful 4 wheelers and it came true 99%. Well that remaining 1% will be added only on the day when I drive a ferrari. Ok stories apart.. the pics speaks for themselves, if not, at least the captions do :) so i'll handover to them... tighten your seat belts..& off you go

One < Quarter

There’s always been something reassuring when I came to know that this auspicious occasion of mine was celebrated by my friends and family in my absence..! of course in my home town BENGALOORU which makes me feel very nostalgic. It came as a bit of surprise & fun as one of my friend who happens to know me for about 12 years or more actually celebrated the occasion way earlier than it was meant to be.!

That’s right….it’s my birthday!!! I’m not going to say how old I’m turning, either. I’d rather let you go on thinking about the title “1 less than quarter”:)

Friends decided to celebrate at Golden Tandoori which is desi restaurant located in the heart of the city and the pics are up for you. Thanks for all your messages & wishes. Love you all..

The joy of Prathama

Yet another sincere hello to my fellow readers. This was something that I had not given a though about as I consider my self a newbie to "WWW". Now that I have found a way...! ok without any patience to narrate story, this is my first ever own composition of music produced using PSR550 who happens to be my X girlfriend :D

This is composed on 6 different tracks & based on "HINDOLA/MALKAUNS" raga. Its almost 4 years old now but then its my first. N therz lot more to come.... for this moment share the joy of Prathama with me.

Moments recalled

As I had promised in my previous post, i had to come up with this one which again might just bubble up those few moments of our Engineering Dayz. I could have titled it as "ENGINEERING DAYZ - II" a sequel to my previous post. But then as I have already said I dont want to make my blog look like another bollywood movie :)

So, it all use to happen like this....well if not for all atleast for most I believe. Here we go.... Gulping down the breakfast after a quick shower, we put on our denims, a cool shirt, freshened with some deodorant and leave for college, speeding along the bumpy roads. Finally at the parking lot we give ourself a final look and set our hair looking into the rear-view mirror[am not sure about our female counterparts]. Then we enter our class after meeting some friends, 5-10 minutes late, after the lecture has begun. we select the last bench behind a huge and tall guy and patiently wait only to scream out at the attendance call.

Almost all of us kept gazing at the lecturer but with our minds somewhere down in the canteen or at the door, waiting for `that someone holding a memo' to come in. There are always a few of sincere first-bench-students, who attend each and every lecture and have all the detailed notes, which the outstanding students, (students who always stand out lik me.!) can photocopy a few days before the examinations. Passing comments and gossiping from behind our books or playing cross and knots in the most boring lectures during which half the class would already be snoring.! were some of the methods adopted to spend the lectures.

By the end of the lecture, everyone is feeling restless and eyes on our watches, slamming books and dropping bags just to hint the lecturer but then they mercilessly continued their teaching. Finally the bell rings and most of them out of the class, meeting friends at the sombheri katte or in the canteen with "Plate ek aur spoon anek" formula :D

Above all we just cant forget the thrill of bunking lectures & getting cold shoulders of our HOD, the fun of partying or going for movies and picnics...phewwww..! Moments spent during college days are memories for ever.

Why the Name?

Endless hours of procrastination, long hours of University & work, gossip, sleepless nights, job deals, Client meetings & Projects, house keeping & taking good care of myself are all incomplete without communication. So I call my blog "Kaad Harate" which apparently means "hot conversations with no real intentions."

I didn't start this blog to stir communal violence or to combat terrorism (which turns out to be common 2day). I started this blog so as to keep myself well read and updated (which obviously I am not now). Does that sound selfish? Would it have been anything different had I said this blog is the voice of the underdog? I believe its rhetoric stupidity.!

Do stupid blurbs bother you? Is Karnataka's Political situation bothering you? Are stinky socks the biggest menace for you today !?! Whatever it is, all you need is a little more talent than that of a nose picker to write and say what you want to say. And this doesn't mean that a nose picker cant write one!; confused? irritated? Well then the blog name serves the purpose :)

Vacation in Bengalooru

First of all my apologies to regular readers as its been a long time that I have not posted any stuff and now that I have found some time to write about awesome experience of my vacation trip to Namma BENGALOORU.

Its been called the Garden city, lot of publicity as the Pub city, Silicon Valley of India, IT Capital of India huff…. Wut not..! leaving behind its original name BENDA KAALOORU meaning Cooked Beans.!

Well I would give my home town the name Friendly City as it cant be compared to any other city in India for friendly atmosphere. Absolutely chilling places to hang around and something always happening in & around the city. I’ve got the proof below though. It was pleasure to eat IDLY, VADA, DOSA, KHARABATH, KESRIBATH, SHAVIGEBATH, JAMOON, glass full of TEA n COFFEE n what not while you are in V.V. Puram..! Given a day I would have my breakfast at Upahaara Darshini in DVG road, lunch at Nandini in Jaynagar, evening Gully chats and dinner at MTR. Having eaten so much of outside food I say nothing tastes better than mother’s recipe.

There may be over 700 IT companies & atleast thrice as many temples calling Bengalooru home, but I assure that this isn’t some nerdy IT hub. Spend some time here, and you’ll quickly discover the delights of one of the nation’s most liberal metropolises and some wonderfull charms of old India.

PS : BENGALOORU – Many Worlds One Place

Legendary Matter

Ladies n Gentlemen… Boys Girls n the Rest out there, I would take all the pleasure n pain in the world to introduce you all a never before, most amazing, humorously entertaining, living legend of APSCE telecom [02-06 batch]… presenting to you Mr. RAVI - K [well, not to be imitated in any other language which leads to offensive meaning] known to VTU as Ravichandra .K & to me/us as MATTER n from now on for all others out there. This happens to be yet another outstanding chapter while I turned back the pages of the novel with golden pages embedded “College Life”.

One fine day there waz a hardcore discussion going on among the back benchers…it was filled with exchange of taboo information [which of course U don’t wanna know]. Then suddenly enters a Gandhi [often reffered to as innocent guys – college colloquial] into the hot discussion n asks what is going on? what are you guys talking about !?! Then this question was followed by an answer “its MATTER”..! n the genius who answered was named after it there after, who then went on to be legendary with in a span of 4 years.

Well its not only the name that’s unique even the subject [matter himself] is. He was famous for his uniquely developed verbal wikipedia from which he used to speak the weird phrases/words which eventually were added to our slangs..! yes, they were so unique and funny that we couldn’t resisted to laugh our hearts out. Literally I can say that he abducted the English then. For those of you who are totally unaware of MATTER & his Wiki, here are few of them which I consider to be unforgettable…

*. Aasami instead of Tsunami.! *. Sharpanova instead of Sharapova.!

*. Fedrix instead of Fedrer.! & a wut not… at the moment I can only recall these.

The other side of his passion was giving cut piece poses to the camera clicks which eventually used to get edited by an unique artist Mr. Rohith alias GADIYAARA. These were made as hot news the very next day in the class n yet another day out at college. Don’t even remember how many day out’s like these we have had. And when it was time for exam he use derive his own shortcuts n explanations which amazingly were funny yet could be remembered well, atleast till the end of exams.

As I closed the book, I felt like somebody kicked me from behind.! But it turned out be my illusion. Today our Matter is a Software Engineer at Mphasis and owns a car to pool from Bangalore – Mangalore with Mphasis colleagues exposing his business mind [apparently nothing else sorry]. Forgot to mention that he has also tasted the pain of a fiber cane thrown at him by a police constable when he tried to jump in a que formation for a Kannada movie.! So HEGIDDA? HEGAADA? GOTTA..? NAMMA…CHINNARI MUTTA :) I know I could have written a lot more I mean a hell lot but I leave it to you guyz for the remains of MATTER MEMORIES.

I hated tat time

Belated "Merry Christmas", "Happy New Year" & all that crap to everyone out there. I personally hated that period of time; specially last year [2007] as I was made to listen to all those annoying carols almost anywhere & everywhere. Let me say hurting somebody's feelings is not my intension.
This is what I heard from one of my colleague when I asked Y is it that you people lovingly hate christmas.!?! Its because "you buy other people things that they don't want and they give you things you don't want. You then spend most of the day with relatives you don't see very often, the reason you don't see much of them is that you don't like them. You eat too much, have a few too many drinks and start acting like the Hallow Man..!" I couldn't waited anymore for it to be over.

Some said: Midnight Mass is a good time to reflect on past mistakes and vow to try better next time the chance arises.
N Most said: Nope; I reckon Christmas should be wiped from the calendar.!; I'd rather mow the lawn or paint the house.! [after hearing to this I felt the mental sickness of westerners]

Lack of Culture but they still believe in Future, am damn sure they themselves torture.
